ConnectOS in Manila is seeking a hands-on software engineer to join an offshore squad. You will build, test, release, operate, and improve digital applications, translating requirements into secure, high-performance software that serves clients across time zones.

You will work with Product, Design, Engineering, Security, and Platform teams, applying coding standards, secure-by-design practices, and robust testing.

Role Summary

As a hands-on engineer within an offshore squad, you will build, test, release, operate, and improve digital applications and services, working under the technical guidance of the Lead Engineer. You will translate well-defined requirements and technical direction into secure, accessible, and high-performance software, contributing to a seamless member experience across time zones. You are an execution-focused professional who embraces quality, automation, and collaboration, while responsibly leveraging approved AI-assisted tools to enhance productivity and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Delivery & Engineering
  
  
  
  • Build, test, and release features, services, and shared components in line with agreed requirements and technical direction.
  
  
  • Apply coding standards, design-system patterns, and secure-by-design practices throughout the SDLC.
  
  
  • Contribute to solution reliability and supportability by implementing robust logging, monitoring, and operational readiness activities.
  
  
  
  


• Quality, Testing & Automation
  
  
  
  • Write and maintain comprehensive tests (unit, integration, accessibility, and regression) to ensure release confidence and minimize defects.
  
  
  • Participate in code reviews and pair programming to uphold engineering quality and mentor others.
  
  
  • Use approved AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly to support coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting, ensuring proper validation.
  
  
  
  


• Collaboration & Communication
  
  
  
  • Work effectively with onshore and offshore teams (Product, Design, Engineering, Security, and Platform) to clarify requirements and manage dependencies.
  
  
  • Proactively communicate progress, blockers, and implementation risks across time zones.
  
  
  
  


• Continuous Improvement & Observability
  
  
  
  • Contribute ideas and documentation that strengthen the squad's quality, developer experience, and delivery effectiveness.
  
  
  • Implement logging, diagnostics, and runbook inputs to ensure solutions are production-ready and easily supported.
