Job summary

Ascendion is seeking an experienced Automation Testing professional to join our Quality Assurance team in Metro Manila. This full-time role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites using Playwright, Selenium, and Robot Framework to ensure high-quality software across web, desktop, and mobile platforms.

• Strong knowledge of functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience testing web apps; exposure to desktop and mobile testing.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and automated test integration.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in an Agile environment.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated test scripts and frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, and Robot Framework to validate application functionality across platforms and browsers.
• Create and maintain comprehensive test automation strategies and test plans that align with project requirements and quality standards.
• Execute automated test suites and analyze test results to identify defects, performance issues, and areas for improvement.

• Document test cases, test data, and automation processes to ensure knowledge transfer and maintainability.
• Perform regression testing to ensure updates do not introduce new defects.
• Identify and report bugs with clear information to support resolution and prevention of similar issues.
• Continuously improve test automation frameworks and methodologies to enhance efficiency and coverage.
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging automation testing tools and techniques.

About the role

This is a full-time position where you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications through comprehensive automated testing. As an Automation Testing specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites using industry-leading frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, and Robot Framework. This role is essential to our commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions and supporting our development teams in achieving continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) objectives.

Key responsibilities

What we're looking for

• Proficient in at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.

• Solid understanding of functional, regression, and end‑to‑end testing.

• Experience in testing web applications and exposure to desktop and mobile application testing.

• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and automated test integration.

• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.

• Good analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.

• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
