Job summary

The Automation Test Engineer will design, build and maintain automated test suites using Playwright, collaborating with AI/ML specialists to validate non-deterministic outputs across UI and API layers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in test automation with hands-on Playwright.
• Experience testing AI/ML-enabled products or AI-assisted workflows.

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI or Jenkins.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable, reusable test frameworks, page objects and utilities that keep tests stable and easy to maintain.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines so that every release is validated quickly and consistently.
• Test AI-powered features, including validating model outputs, prompts, workflows and integrations, and checking for accuracy, consistency, bias and unexpected behaviour.
• Develop strategies for testing non-deterministic systems, such as evaluation datasets, threshold-based assertions and regression checks on AI output quality.
• Use AI tools responsibly to improve testing productivity, for example generating test ideas, test data and scripts, while reviewing all output for correctness.
• Perform API testing alongside UI testing to validate services and integrations.
• Analyse test failures, identify root causes, and raise clear, actionable defect reports.
• Contribute to test planning, risk assessment and the definition of quality standards and acceptance criteria.
• Monitor and reduce flaky tests, and report on test coverage, execution results and quality trends.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners and stakeholders in an agile environment.

About the Role

The Automation Test Engineer will design, build and maintain automated test suites that give our teams fast, trustworthy feedback on product quality. You will work closely with developers, product owners and AI/ML specialists to test both traditional application features and AI-driven functionality, where outputs can be non-deterministic and quality needs to be measured differently.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Playwright and has worked in an environment where AI is part of the product, the development process, or both.

Required Qualifications

• Experience working in an AI environment, such as testing AI/ML-enabled products, LLM-based features, chatbots or AI-assisted workflows.
• Solid understanding of software testing principles, test design techniques and the software development life cycle.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI or Jenkins.
• Experience with API testing tools or libraries (for example Postman, REST-assured or Playwright API testing).
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and working in agile teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
