Job summary

AUS CONSTRUCTION in the Philippines is seeking an Automation & Instrumentation Engineer to design, program, install, test, and maintain industrial automation and instrumentation systems for refrigeration facilities and process plants.

You will focus on PLC automation, SCADA/HMI, instrumentation controls, and energy optimization, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and operations teams to ensure safe, reliable plant operations and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automation and instrumentation systems for industrial refrigeration and process facilities.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, and VFD systems.
• Install and calibrate instrumentation devices such as pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flow meters, and level sensors.
• Prepare control logic diagrams, instrumentation layouts, P&ID references, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of automation panels, field instruments, and control systems.
• Monitor plant performance and recommend process improvements and energy-saving solutions.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and operations teams during project execution.
• Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards and operational procedures.

Job description

The Automation & Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for the design, programming, installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial automation and instrumentation systems for refrigeration facilities, cold storage plants, ice plants, and industrial process systems.

The position focuses on PLC automation, instrumentation controls, monitoring systems, process optimization, energy efficiency, and ensuring reliable plant operation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and develop automation and instrumentation systems for industrial refrigeration and process facilities.

• Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, and VFD systems.

• Install and calibrate instrumentation devices such as:

• Pressure transmitters

• Temperature sensors

• Flow meters

• Level sensors

• Control valves

• Gauges and switches

• Perform testing, commissioning, startup, and system integration activities.

• Prepare control logic diagrams, instrumentation layouts, P&ID references, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

• Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of automation panels, field instruments, and control systems.

• Monitor plant performance and recommend process improvements and energy-saving solutions.

• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and operations teams during project execution.

• Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards and operational procedures.

• Assist in technical support, after-sales service, and site inspections.

• Prepare technical reports, project updates, and maintenance records.

• Support plant operations in maintaining stable and efficient refrigeration processes.

• Knowledge in instrumentation calibration and process control systems.

• Can read and interpret electrical diagrams, P&ID, and control schematics.

• Knowledgeable in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

• Willing to travel and conduct field/site work.
