Responsibilities

1. Installation Duties

• Install electrical systems, wiring, conduit, and instrumentation equipment.

• Set up control systems including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), DCS (Distributed Control Systems), and SCADA systems.

• Install sensors, transmitters, analyzers, and control valves.

2. Maintenance Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems.

• Calibrate instruments to ensure accurate readings (e.g., temperature, pressure, flow).

• Troubleshoot malfunctioning instruments or electrical components.

• Maintain and repair motor control centers, switchgear, transformers, and circuit breakers.

3. Testing and Calibration

• Conduct loop checks and signal testing for control systems.

• Calibrate instruments according to specifications and standards.

• Use tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and calibration devices.

4. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of work performed, calibration data, and maintenance logs.

• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

• Update documentation for system modifications and upgrades.

5. Safety and Compliance

• Ensure work complies with industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, OSHA).

• Conduct safety checks and risk assessments before working on systems.

• Isolate equipment safely before maintenance (lockout/tagout procedures).

6. Coordination and Communication

• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians.

• Provide input on system improvements or equipment upgrades.

• Train junior staff or apprentices when required.
