Job summary

Shopee Philippines is seeking an Automation Engineer to support warehouse automation systems, conduct preventive maintenance on robots and conveyors, and troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues across multiple sites.

The role requires hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, robotics, and motor control, plus strong reading of technical drawings and safety compliance. Candidates should be able to support multiple warehouse locations in Meycauayan and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering or Mechatronics or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Preferred PRC license or National Certificate II/III/IV in Electrical or Mechatronics.
• Working-at-height certification.
• 2–4 years of experience in automation engineering projects, equipment maintenance, conveyors, and material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular preventive maintenance on robots and automation equipment (e.g. conveyors, packing machines, AS/RS and robotic systems).
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on robots and automation equipment to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, printers, scanners, and control panels.
• Audit inventory of spare parts to ensure availability.
• Ensure compliance of all automation systems with safety standards.
• Provide technical support to warehouse operations during daily activities.
• Oversee materials handling equipment such as Reach trucks, Counterbalance, and Powered pallet trucks.
• Document maintenance activities.

The Operation teams at Shopee covers the operational end-to-end process, from when the buyer searches for a product listed on the Shopee platform, to the moment the buyer receives the products. The team analyses and monitors operational KPIs across the region and conducts root cause analysis when operation performance fluctuates. The Operations team comprises Customer Service, Payment, Listings, Warehouse, Logistics, Seller Operations and Fraud.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering or Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

• 2 to 4 years of experience in automation engineering projects, equipment maintenance, conveyors, and material handling equipment. Experience with industrial automation is preferred.
• Knowledge of PLCs, HMI, VFD, robotics, and motor control
• Familiarity with conveyors, sortation systems, AS/RS and robotic
• Proficient in reading technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
• Skilled in troubleshooting
