Job summary

Samtech Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Draftsman/CAD Operator to prepare precise 2D/3D drawings for fabrication and production in Laguna. You will convert designs into accurate CAD files, create shop drawings, and support laser cutting, bending, welding, and sheet metal processes.

The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks, with 1–2 years of drafting experience and knowledge of metal fabrication. Collaboration with Technical and Production teams is essential for successful project

Qualifications

• Graduate of Drafting Technology or related course.
• 1–2 years of drafting/CAD experience preferred.
• Experience in metal fabrication, sheet metal, or structural fabrication is advantageous.
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of measurements, tolerances, and material specs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise 2D/3D CAD drawings for fabrication and production requirements.
• Create detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, layouts, and cutting plans.
• Convert approved designs, sketches, measurements, and specifications into accurate CAD drawings.
• Prepare drawings for laser cutting, bending, welding, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Ensure correct dimensions, material specifications, tolerances, and other technical details in drawings.
• Review drawings for errors, inconsistencies, and missing information before release to Production.
• Coordinate with Technical/Engineering and Production teams regarding drawing requirements and revisions.
• Make revisions based on approved changes, site measurements, or production needs.
• Assist in preparing BOM, material take-off, and cutting lists when required.
• Conduct actual measurements on site or workplace to ensure drawing accuracy.

About the role

Responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, fabrication drawings, layouts, and CAD files based on approved designs, specifications, measurements, and project requirements. The position supports the Technical, Production, and Fabrication teams by ensuring that drawings are clear, accurate, and suitable for manufacturing and installation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and revise 2D/3D CAD drawings for fabrication and production requirements
• Create detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, layouts, and cutting plans
• Convert approved designs, sketches, measurements, and specifications into accurate CAD drawings
• Prepare drawings for laser cutting, bending, welding, and sheet metal fabrication
• Ensure correct dimensions, material specifications, tolerances, and other technical details are indicated in drawings
• Review drawings for errors, inconsistencies, and missing information before releasing them to Production
• Coordinate with the Technical/Engineering and Production teams regarding drawing requirements and revisions
• Make necessary revisions based on approved changes, site measurements, or production requirements
• Assist in preparing Bill of Materials (BOM), material take-off, and cutting lists when required
• Conduct actual measurements at the site or workplace when necessary to ensure drawing accuracy

About you

• Graduate of Drafting Technology or related course
• Relevant technical/vocational training in CAD may also be considered
• Preferably with 1-2 years of experience as a Draftsman, CAD Operator, or similar position
• Experience in metal fabrication, sheet metal, structural fabrication, or manufacturing is an advantage
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Solidworks or equivalent CAD software
• Knowledge of 2D technical drafting and basic 3D modeling
• Able to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and specifications
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding, bending, and laser cutting is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of measurements, dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications
• Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications
