Job summary

Alba Motors & Metal Craft Inc. seeks a skilled CAD Operator to transform concepts into production-ready drawings for metal fabrication and structural projects. You will coordinate with the shop floor to ensure drawings reflect production capabilities, tolerances, and client buildability.

You will also prepare Bills of Quantities and material takeoff sheets to support accurate pricing and procurement, while updating libraries and revisions for consistency across projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in CAD drafting within metalworking, structural steel, or custom fabrication environments.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D/3D technical drawings, shop drawings, and cut sheets for metal fabrication and structural projects.
• Update and maintain standard design libraries and drawing revisions.
• Work closely with shop floor supervisors and fabricators to ensure drawing specifications match production capabilities.
• Track project timelines and assist in routing jobs through cutting, bending, welding, and assembly stages.
• Review client inquiries and initial designs to assess buildability and offer practical manufacturing solutions.
• Generate accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and material takeoff sheets to assist the estimating team with accurate pricing and raw material procurement.

About the role

As a CAD Operator, you will play a central role in transforming conceptual ideas into accurate, production-ready technical drawings. Beyond drafting, you will coordinate production workflows and consult directly with clients on buildability and material estimates to ensure seamless project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D/3D technical drawings, shop drawings, and cut sheets for metal fabrication and structural projects.

About you
