Job summary

Remote People Ltd. is seeking an AU Tax Accountant to join a high-performing team in reconciling and preparing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, trusts, and companies. You will have 3+ years of Australian tax experience and familiarity with Xero, Xero Practice Manager, and related software.

Responsibilities include BAS preparation, tax reconciliation, client communication, and data extraction. Enrolled or pursuing CA/CPA status is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or equivalent experience.
• Enrolled in, or looking to enrol in, CA or CPA

Responsibilities

• Communicate proactively with managers about priority and progress of jobs.
• Take ownership of tasks, following checklists to ensure quality standards.
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS).
• Reconcile and complete tax returns for individuals, trusts, companies and partnerships.
• Communicate with clients to request information or clarification.
• Respond to client requests promptly and manage expectations.
• Extract data, adjust ledgers and prepare tax working papers.
• Work with Xero, Xero Practice Manager, NowInfinity, Ignition and MS Office.
