Job summary

Advice2talent is seeking an experienced Australian Tax Accountant to manage a portfolio of Australian clients from home. You will handle tax returns, financial statements, BAS/IAS lodgements, and client-facing workpapers with minimal supervision.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in Australian taxation within public practice, and hands-on experience with Xero Practice Manager, FYI Docs, Active | Business Fitness, along with MyXero/MYOB/QuickBooks/Reckon. Strong English skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field.
• At least 3 years Australian tax experience, public practice.
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation across trusts and partnerships.
• Hands-on with Xero Practice Manager, FYI Docs, and Active | Business Fitness.
• Working knowledge of MyXero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Reckon.
• Strong English communication with clients and Australian staff.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and SMSFs.
• Prepare annual financial statements in Xero and manage BAS, IAS, PAYG, and other ATO compliance.
• Prepare supporting workpapers (CGT, FBT, Division 7A, rental property, asset schedules).
• Complete balance sheet, GST, and ATO account reconciliations.
• Review bookkeeping files in MyXero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Reckon; identify discrepancies.
