1840 & Company is hiring a Remote Associate Accountant in the Philippines to handle full-cycle bookkeeping, financial statements, and client communications. You will work on a graveyard shift (9:00 AM-5:00 PM EST equivalent) with tasks spanning AR/AP, month-end close, budgeting, and analyses.

Requirements include a 4+ year accounting background, remote work experience, and proficiency with QuickBooks Online or Xero. Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years accounting experience including full-cycle bookkeeping.
• 3+ years graveyard shift and remote work experience.
• Proficient in MS Office and cloud accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliations.
• Excellent communication skills; able to explain financial information clearly to clients.
• High attention to detail and accuracy under tight deadlines.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive problem-solver who can work independently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping and accurate financial records.
• Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, and payment processing.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Assist with client budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with CRA requirements, including HST, WSIB, and EHT.
• Track and monitor client deliverables, following up proactively.
• Communicate with clients and third parties to resolve financial matters.
• Document client processes to improve efficiency and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and recommend improvements.
