Job summary

Omnium International is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial and cost management activities across MEP packages on major building projects. This role suits an early-career QS or Estimator with hands-on experience and strong technical knowledge.

You will measure quantities from drawings, prepare BOQs, cost estimates and tender documentation, and maintain accurate records. Proficiency with CostX and a solid understanding of MEP services are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year post-graduate experience in Quantity Surveying or estimating.
• Experience in MEP measurement on large projects.
• Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• PRC license is an advantage.
• Proficiency with CostX preferred.

About the role

Assistant Quantity Surveyor supporting the commercial and cost management activities across MEP packages on major building projects. This role is suited to an early-career quantity survey or estimating professional with strong technical knowledge and hands‑on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Act as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, supporting the commercial and cost management activities across MEP packages on major building projects
• Assist with the measurement and quantification of MEP works from drawings, specifications and other project documentation
• Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), schedules of quantities and other measurement documentation in accordance with project requirements
• Support the preparation of cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation for MEP packages
• Maintain accurate measurement records and ensure quantities are checked and reconciled against drawings, specifications and project requirements
• Utilize CostX to undertake measurements, quantify works and support cost management activities

About you

• Minimum 1 year of post‑graduate experience in Quantity Surveying, Estimating or a similar commercial role, ideally within an MEP environment
• Previous experience as a Junior Quantity Surveyor, Assistant Quantity Surveyor or MEP Estimator
• Intermediate to strong technical knowledge of MEP quantity surveying and measurement
• Proven experience undertaking MEP measurement on large‑scale building projects
• Good understanding of BOQ preparation, quantity measurement and take‑off processes
• Experience working with MEP drawings, specifications and other technical project documentation
• Proficiency in CostX is preferred, with experience using other recognized measurements or estimating software also considered
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good understanding of MEP services, ideally covering mechanical and electrical packages such as HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical and/or ELV
• University degree in either Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from a reputable, accredited institution
• A current PRC license in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is a strong advantage
