Job summary

Our Clients is seeking an Assistant Manager - Butchery and Egg to support category management and sourcing for the category across stores. You’ll collaborate with the Category Manager to optimize assortment, pricing, and supplier relationships while ensuring freshness and quality.

You will help shape pricing strategies, monitor category performance, and coordinate with Store Operations to maintain product handling and food safety standards from sourcing to shelf.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business/ Food Technology or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in category management, buying, or merchandising for meat, poultry, or eggs.
• Background in Retail, Wholesale, or FMCG is preferred.
• Working knowledge of food safety and quality standards for fresh/perishable products.
• Strong supplier management and commercial negotiation skills.
• Good analytical skills to translate sales data into category decisions.

Responsibilities

• Category Management Support: Develop and execute category strategy, assortment planning, and pricing for Butchery and Egg.
• Performance Monitoring: Track sales performance and market trends for growth opportunities.
• Supplier Management: Assist in supplier sourcing, negotiations, and maintaining relationships for favorable terms.
• Quality & Food Safety: Ensure freshness, quality, and food safety from sourcing to shelf.
• Pricing & Promotions: Support pricing strategies and promotional programs; monitor competitor pricing.
• Store Execution & Operations Support: Coordinate with Store Ops to ensure proper product handling, display, rotation, and safety training.
