Job summary

Spinneys Philippines is seeking a skilled butcher to join our Store Operations team. You will cut, trim, debone and portion meat products while ensuring quality, freshness and strict adherence to food safety standards.

You will handle labeling, storage, and rotation of meat, maintain a clean workstation, and assist customers with product information. Shift work, weekends, and holidays are expected.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of butcher experience in food retail or similar environment.

About the Role

Spinneys Philippines is looking for a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our Store Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cutting, trimming, portioning, and presenting meat products while maintaining the highest standards of quality, freshness, food safety, and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cutting, trimming, deboning, portioning, and preparation of various meat products.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, and rotation of meat products.
• Maintain product quality, freshness, and proper presentation.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Safely use and maintain knives, cutting tools, and butcher equipment.
• Minimize product waste through proper cutting and portion control.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
• Monitor meat products and report any quality or freshness concerns.
• Assist customers with basic product information when required.
• Support inventory checks and other store operations related to the Butcher section.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Operations team.

Qualifications

• At least 1–2 years of experience as a Butcher in a supermarket, grocery, meat shop, hotel, restaurant, or similar food retail environment.
• Proven hands‑on experience in meat cutting, trimming, deboning, and portioning.
• Knowledge of proper meat handling and food safety practices.
• Ability to safely operate butcher tools and equipment.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a chilled/cold environment.
• Strong attention to detail and product quality.
• Good teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
• Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays.
