Job summary

Anglo-Eastern in Metro Manila is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to assist in management and development of ship agency accounting functions and provide high-quality financial and client reporting.

You will oversee payroll matters, ensure timely closings, reconciliations, and accurate recharge of crew and vessel transactions, and lead a team in payroll processing.

Qualifications

• BS Accountancy and CPA licensed.
• 3–5 years as Accounting Supervisor or Team Leader reviewing books or processing transactions.
• Big 4 audit experience is an advantage.
• Excellent command of English and Filipino.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Analytical thinker with strong communication and business acumen.
• Self-motivated, independent, proactive and adaptable.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing ship agency accounting functions for high-quality reporting.
• Support Accounting Manager in oversight of payroll matters.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end closings and reconciliations.
• Monitor client funds and coordinate replenishments for crew payments.
• Ensure crew and vessel transactions are recorded and charged properly.
• Lead team to accurate crew payroll processing and payslips.

Job description

• Assist in the management and development of the ship agency accounting functions with the objective of providing a high-quality financial and client reporting services for the Company
• Support the Ship Agency Accounting Manager in oversight and resolution of the ship agency and crew payroll matters
• Manage team to ensure Ship Agency books are reported/closed timely and accurately. Ensure monthly balance sheet reviews, reconciliation and analysis are performed (e.g. bank/cash reconciliation, subsidiary ledgers for AR, AP, Interco, etc.)
• Provide assistance in raising and monitoring of client funds and coordination for timely subsequent replenishments to maintain sufficient balances are available to cover crew payments and vessel vendor expenses
• Ensure crew and vessel transactions are properly processed, recorded and timely recharged to respective Corporate or Ship Books
• Manage team to achieve timely and accurate crew payrolling (e.g. Allotment, monthly Balance of Wages, other crew payments, deductions, taxation, payslips, certifications, payroll system maintenance)

Requirements

• BS Accountancy, must be Certified Public Accountant
• 3 to 5 years' experience as Accounting Supervisor or Team Leader doing review and analysis of books or processing of transactions
• Audit experience in Big 4 is an advantage
• Excellent command of both English and Filipino is essential
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is an advantage
• Analytical thinker with excellent communication skills and strong business acumen
• Self-motivated, independent, proactive and adaptable
• Able to work in fast paced environment
