Job summary

UltraManpower in Manila is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting department onsite in Malate, coordinating with the VP for Finance and overseeing QMS, treasury, and remittance reviews. The role demands ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with policies.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accountancy, CPA is highly preferred, and has at least three years of supervisory experience in Accounting or Finance; maritime industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy required.
• CPA license highly preferred.
• At least three years of supervisory/managerial experience in Accounting or Finance.
• Maritime/shipping/crew management experience is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department.

• Perform financial duties assigned by the Company President.
• Serve as the primary financial contact for overseas principals.

• Review and approve final wages and settlements of disembarked crew members.
• Oversee treasury functions, company checks, cash monitoring, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial reporting requirements, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• The Accounting Manager will be responsible for:
• Leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department.
• Coordinating directly with the Vice President for Finance regarding financial operations and reporting.
• Managing the department's Quality Management System (QMS).
• Performing financial duties assigned by the Company President.
• Serving as the primary financial contact for overseas principals by handling financial inquiries and correspondence.
• Reviewing and auditing remittances received from principals through company depository banks.
• Conducting final verification of monthly General Shipping Accounts (G.S.A.) reports and other assigned principal accounts.
• Reviewing and approving final wages and settlements of disembarked crew members.
• Overseeing accounting matters involving Protection and Indemnity (P&I) claims and insurance.
• Managing treasury functions, company checks, cash monitoring, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, financial reporting requirements, and company policies.
