Job summary

Avensys Consulting in the Philippines is seeking an Assistant Accountant to manage the full accounts payable cycle for multi-entity operations, ensuring SOP compliance and detailed records. The role requires Mandarin literacy, fluent English, a BS in Accountancy, and at least two years of related experience; Oracle and Ariba experience is a plus.

The position starts onsite with probation and moves to a hybrid schedule after regularization.

Qualifications

• Support month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reports.
• Audit employee expense reports and enforce travel/expense policies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain audit-ready documentation.

Job Description:

The Assistant Accountant is responsible for a range of accounting processing functions within the scope of full accounts payable cycle. Critical to this position is the incumbent’s ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and check compliance with Company policies. The incumbent is expected to exercise attention to detail and strong organization skills to maintain detailed records.

• Process and review high-volume accounts payable transactions for China and Taiwan entities, ensuring accuracy, validity, and compliance with company policies and internal controls.
• Review, analyze, and enter invoices, accruals, and expenses in Ariba and Oracle; identify exceptions, unusual charges, and policy non-compliance.
• Support month-end close activities, including accrual preparation, reconciliations, reports, and schedules aligned with the US consolidation calendar.
• Audit employee expense reports, enforce travel and expense policies, communicate exceptions, and ensure timely and accurate reimbursements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve issues, respond to inquiries, maintain organized audit-ready documentation, and continuously build accounting process expertise.

Requirements:

• Skilled in Mandarin - can read, write, and communicate
• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree from a reputable college or university. Minimum of (2) years combined work experience in accounts payable, general accounting, and/or audit. Experienced in using any accounting software/application; Profi cient in MS Excel.
• Fluent in English – as used in effective verbal and written communications.
• Exposure to multinational operations will be helpful.
• Experienced in using Oracle and any automated expense management tools.
