Job summary

Questronix Corporation in the Philippines seeks an L2 Production Support specialist for IBM AS/400 / IBM i and OS/400 environments. You will monitor system health, jobs, subsystems, batch schedules, and perform incident troubleshooting to resolve issues quickly.

You will manage user profiles and security, review logs, coordinate with L2/L3 and vendors, handle file transfers (FTP/SFTP) and MQ, and support BRMS backups, change implementations, and post-incident documentation; on-call shifts are

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with IBM AS/400 / IBM i and OS/400.
• Knowledge of job control, subsystems, job queues and message queues.
• Experience with spool file management, performance monitoring and licensing.
• L2 application support in production environments.
• Basic RPG/RPGLE and CL/CLLE (COBOL a plus).
• DB2 for i fundamentals and basic SQL.
• Experience with schedulers (Control-M, Tivoli) and ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira).
• Understanding of batch vs online processing and Dev/UAT/Prod environments.
• Familiarity with MIMIX and basic Linux/Windows awareness.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience with IBM AS/400 / IBM i and OS/400
• Strong knowledge of job control, subsystems, job queues, and message queues
• Experience with spool file management, performance monitoring, and licensing
• L2 application support experience in production environments
• Basic knowledge of RPG/RPGLE and CL/CLLE (COBOL is a plus)
• DB2 for i fundamentals and basic SQL query skills
• Experience with schedulers (Control-M, Tivoli) and ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira)
• Understanding of batch vs online processing and Dev/UAT/Prod environments
• Knowledgeable with MIMIX
• Basic Linux and Windows system awareness

Preferred Skills:

• AS/400 modernization or migration experience
• DevOps or automation exposure on IBM i
