Job summary

Yallo Retail is seeking an experienced AS/400 Developer to join our IBM iSeries team in a contract role. You will design, develop, and maintain business applications using RPGLE, CL, and DB2/400 on the IBM iSeries platform.

The role requires 5–8 years of hands-on experience, strong ILE concepts, SQL in RPGLE, and a solid SDLC background. You will document changes, participate in code reviews, and support modernization efforts where applicable.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years hands-on experience with RPGLE / RPG IV, CL, Free Format RPG and DB2/400.
• Strong experience with ILE concepts and modular programming.
• Proficiency in SQL and embedded SQL in RPGLE.
• Familiarity with CL programs/scripts and job scheduling.
• Experience with file handling, data queues, message queues, and journaling.
• Ability to write technical documentation and understand business requirements.
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Knowledge of third‑party tools like Aldon Lifecycle Manager.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
