Job summary

Whitecloak in the Philippines seeks an API Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable APIs and microservices that power front-end apps. You will integrate backend systems with front-ends and deploy through an API gateway in an Agile team.

The role requires RESTful/SOAP API experience, JavaScript/NodeJS, NestJS, Docker, and API security. You will author documentation and provide L3 production support. Collaboration with peers and architecture discussions are encouraged.

Qualifications

At least 2 years of API development experience.
Experience with IBM API Connect or equivalent API gateway.
RESTful and SOAP API development experience.
Proficient in JavaScript/NodeJS and the NestJS framework.
SQL/NoSQL querying experience.
API security experience (rate limiting, JWT, OAuth, API keys).
Experience with Docker.
Experience with GitLab repositories.
Experience with Linux CLI.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to support production issues as L3.
Adherence to Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

Integrate backend core systems with front-end applications through API development.
Develop scalable, maintainable, and secure code for deployment in an API gateway platform.
Develop microservices for customized API functions (e.g., encryption algorithms and database connectivity).
Participate in the end-to-end software development life cycle of projects.
Implement API security controls (e.g., rate limiting, JWT, OAuth, API keys).
Write comprehensive API documentation and conduct knowledge transfer to support teams.
Debug issues and develop unit tests.
Collaborate within an agile team and adherence to ways of working.
Provide L3 support for production issues.
