Job summary

Whitecloak in Metro Manila seeks a Core Java/Backend Developer to translate user stories into robust backend services across web, Android, and iOS platforms. You will design, build, and maintain scalable microservices, expose REST APIs, and ensure performance and reliability across integrated systems.

The role emphasizes collaboration in Agile teams, code quality, unit testing, and continuous improvement of automation and deployment pipelines to deliver end-to-end software with high quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Science & Technology, or equivalent.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum process, language, and ceremonies.
• 3+ years of experience using Java and Spring/SpringBoot.
• 3+ years of experience using relational databases (e.g., Oracle).
• Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery tools.
• Solid understanding of API, microservice, and integration concepts and technologies (e.g., REST, JSON, XML, message queues).
• Excellent analytical, technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
• Demonstrated history of continuously improving knowledge, skills, and processes for the organization.
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly and respond in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Translate user stories into functional applications.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
• Work in a system that interacts with other systems through REST APIs.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
• Conduct unit testing on written code to ensure program performance matches design at the unit level.
