Job summary

Western Union seeks an experienced Director of Cross-border Payments for APAC to lead funds-out strategy, payout networks, and regional product execution. You will build and mentor product teams, partner with engineering, risk, compliance, and commercial leads, and drive scalable remittance capabilities across major corridors.

The role requires 7–10+ years in product management in financial services, 5+ years in leadership, and deep knowledge of payments ecosystems.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of product management experience within financial services, payments, or fintech.
• 5+ years of leadership experience, managing and developing senior product talent.
• Deep understanding of payments, remittances, payout networks, or money movement ecosystems.
• Proven experience owning regional or multi-market product strategies in complex regulatory environments.
• Strong background in agile product development, roadmap ownership, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the APAC Funds Out product strategy, aligned to global platform direction and regional market needs.
• Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, from discovery and roadmap definition through delivery, launch, and optimization.
• Build and manage a team of Product Managers across regional and remote locations, fostering a high-performance, growth-oriented culture.
• Drive expansion and optimization of payout networks, including banks, wallets, cash, and alternative payment methods.
• Partners with engineering and platform teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and compliant payout solutions.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Operations to ensure regulatory alignment across diverse APAC markets.
• Use data, customer insights, and market analysis to prioritize initiatives and measure product success.
• Act as a senior product leader and advocate across the organization, influencing stakeholders at all levels.
