Royal Caribbean Group is seeking a General Accountant to handle tax compliance, financial reporting, and variance analysis for operations in the Philippines.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Accountancy (CPA preferred) with 2–3 years in general accounting, strong knowledge of Philippine tax rules, and advanced Excel; Oracle ERP is a plus.

You will lead monthly closings, budgeting and forecasting, audits support, and ensure robust internal controls across finance functions.

Position Summary

The General Accountant is tasked with ensuring tax compliance and reporting, overseeing management and external financial reporting, and executing general accounting processes. The role emphasizes proficiency in adhering to tax regulations, financial statement preparation, and conducting variance and fluctuation analysis to support strategic goals.

The position specifically supports operations in the Philippines, requiring familiarity with the respective regulatory and taxation frameworks. Candidates with a CPA qualification and 2–3 years of relevant experience, including handling tax audits, are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Tax Compliance and Reporting
  • Ensure adherence to internal revenue regulations, including Expanded Withholding Tax, Value-Added Tax, and Income Tax.
  • Prepare and reconcile quarterly and annual tax submissions for the Philippines markets.
  • Manage tax filings and payments, ensuring timely and accurate submission within statutory deadlines.
  • Compile and provide documentation for tax audits and liaise with authorities during regulatory audits.
• Management and External Financial Reporting
  • Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead monthly and yearly closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Conduct fluctuation analysis to identify financial trends and variances, and present insights to management.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of annual financial audits.
• General Accounting
  • Oversee daily accounting transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Manage and process manual payments, monitoring cash flow to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations to validate the accuracy of financial records.
• Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to align and consolidate the annual budget, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support the preparation of the annual budget by providing accurate data and actionable insights.
  • Conduct monthly forecasting activities to project financial outcomes and inform decision-making.
• Audit and Compliance Support
  • Assist in financial and tax audits for the Philippines’ operations, ensuring readiness and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to address audit findings and implement corrective measures.
• Other Responsibilities
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management to support business objectives.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy (CPA preferred)
• 2–3 years of experience in general accounting, with prior experience handling an Indian legal entity being an advantage
• Strong understanding of tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and transactional accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; knowledge of Oracle ERP is a plus
• Highly analytical, organized, and capable of working with minimal supervision
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
