Job summary

Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC Water) seeks an AMI Engineer to lead design, deployment, and optimization of the AMI/meters network and data systems. You will coordinate with IT, operations, and customer service to ensure reliable metering and accurate billing.

You will develop documentation, support analytics, and ensure cybersecurity and regulatory compliance across the AMI stack, including MDM and C2M integrations.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in software development or system integration with at least 3+ years in AMI/Oracle Utilities C2M/MDM.
  • Hands-on experience with AMI platforms (Itron, Sensus, Landis+Gyr) preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle SOA Suite, BPEL, and integration web services.
  • Knowledge of ETL pipelines (SSIS, ADF, Informatica) or similar.
  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills in Oracle/SQL Server.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, configuration, and implementation of AMI systems and network communications.
  • Manage upgrades, expansions, and integration with Oracle C2M, SCADA, GIS, and asset systems.
  • Develop system performance standards, reliability metrics, and maintenance protocols.
  • Coordinate with IT and operations to resolve metering issues and optimize meter-to-cash.
  • Ensure AMI cybersecurity policy compliance and data privacy standards.
  • Provide training and mentorship to staff on AMI and C2M best practices.
