Job summary

AboitizPower is seeking a Smart Metering - Specialist to lead end‑to‑end smart metering cycle execution, data management, cybersecurity, and upgrades. You will work with Energy Solutions to deliver results, drive community impact, and grow your skills in a supportive environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, 2–3 years in smart metering/IoT/SCADA, and a valid engineering license or driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of smart metering, IoT, SCADA or related field.
• Experience in project execution/management (1–2 years).
• Licensed Engineer preferred; LTO Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Sell and offer smart metering solutions and services.
• Install, commission, and maintain smart meters at customer locations.
• Manage and analyze data from smart meters for accuracy and reliability.
• Configure and troubleshoot communication modules for data transmission.

Job description

As Smart Metering - Specialist, you will be responsible for end‑to‑end Smart Metering Cycle Execution, Data Management, Cybersecurity, and Software/Firmware Upgrades and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with Energy Solutions and Services to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose‑driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Selling and offering smart metering solutions and services
• Install, commission, and maintain smart meters at customer locations
• Manage and analyze data from smart meters, ensuring accuracy and reliability
• Configure and troubleshoot communication modules for seamless data transmission
• Provide technical support to customers and internal teams on smart metering systems
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for system integration with existing infrastructure
• Conduct testing and validation to ensure compliance with regulations and standards

Qualifications

• Broad understanding of the power industry
• Conversant with technical topics pertaining to relevant standards (IEC and ANSI), switchyard, substation equipment, metering, protection relaying, and SCADA
• Conversant with technical topics pertaining to Energy Management Systems, communication protocols, data management, cybersecurity protocols, and system integration
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards governing smart metering

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or equivalent engineering discipline)
• Professional: At least 2–3 years experience in smart metering, Internet‑of‑Things (IoT), SCADA, Automation, or other related fields
• Leadership: None required
• Project: 1–2 years experience in project execution, management
• Technical / Functional Skills:
  • License Required: Licensed Engineer, preferred. LTO Driver’s license is a must
