We’re seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Administration Support professional to support an Australian insolvency firm in managing insolvency and business recovery cases. This is an opportunity to join a growing firm and gain hands-on experience in a specialised area of accounting.
The firm supports businesses and individuals navigating financial challenges, taking a people-first approach based on respect, empathy, and clear communication. The successful candidate will provide administrative, case management, and investigation support while ensuring statutory requirements, documentation, and deadlines are managed accurately.
General Administration: Manage day-to-day administrative tasks, including correspondence, phone calls, email communications, data entry, spreadsheets, filing systems, and record keeping.
Client Support: Assist with onboarding new clients and provide ongoing administrative support throughout insolvency appointments, including bankruptcies and liquidations.
Statutory Lodgements: Assist with preparing and lodging appointment notifications and other statutory forms in accordance with ASIC requirements and relevant timelines.
AFSA Lodgements: Prepare and lodge annual AFSA lodgements as required.
ATO Compliance: Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other required documentation for insolvency appointments with the Australian Taxation Office.
Case Management: Maintain accurate case records and diaries, monitor statutory deadlines, and ensure key milestones are tracked and completed on time.
Stakeholder Correspondence: Manage correspondence with creditors, bankrupts, and other stakeholders, including drafting professional emails and letters in response to enquiries.
Creditors' Documentation: Assist with drafting reports to creditors, notices of creditors' meetings, and meeting minutes.
Case Management Systems: Update and maintain case information within Insol6 and associated document repositories.
Timesheets & Invoicing: Maintain accurate timesheets and assist with generating tax invoices using insolvency accounting software such as Aryza.
File Management: Monitor case progress, organise files, and assist with the finalisation and closure of completed matters.
Investigation Support: Assist with investigations by interviewing bankrupts and company directors, taking meeting minutes, and pursuing relevant records.
Financial Analysis: Review bank statements to identify unusual activity and assist with generating and analysing financial reports for insolvent entities using Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOB.
Investigation Documentation: Assist with drafting investigation reports, investigation summaries, and supporting documentation for review by the insolvency practitioner.
Research Support: Provide research and administrative support to the firm's principal as required.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in insolvency, bookkeeping, or accounting.
Experience supporting Australian insolvency matters is highly regarded.
Completed Bachelor's Degree, postgraduate qualification, or professional qualification is desirable but not essential.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience using accounting systems such as Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with strong analytical skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage tight statutory and operational deadlines.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and statutory compliance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate tactfully and professionally with clients and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Proactive and initiative-driven approach to daily responsibilities.
Quick learner with the ability to understand new systems, processes, legislation, and policies.
Strong interest in or aptitude for law, legislation, and policies relating to insolvency.
