Status:Part-Time (20 hours/week)
Schedule: Fixed daily shift, e.g., 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM AEST (Flexible start times between morning or afternoon; expected online availability during agreed-upon shift)
Gather, extract, and consolidate unstructured financial information from source documents (e.g., physical receipts, handwritten logs, client emails) into structured working spreadsheets.
Prepare comprehensive Australian individual tax returns and supporting workpapers for Principal review.
Process and reconcile Business Activity Statements (BAS) for small business clients using cloud software and source documentation.
Conduct bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing activities across assigned client accounts.
Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, incorporating depreciation schedules, interest adjustments, and journal entries.
Maintain organized electronic client files by attaching relevant checklists, source documents, debtors/creditors reports, and bank statements to workpapers.
Conduct client follow-ups via email to request missing source documents, clarify transaction details, and draft client communications for review.
Reconcile general ledgers and assist in assembling historical multi-year financial statements for sole traders and small business clients.
Assist with ASIC annual reviews and administrative client record updates when required.
Ensure strict adherence to privacy and data security protocols while operating within the client's cloud infrastructure and secure remote network setup.
Solid background in Australian taxation compliance, individual tax returns, and BAS preparation.
Proven experience preparing accounting workpapers, year-end adjustments, depreciation schedules, and journal entries.
Practical understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting workflows.
Ability to process messy, unorganized client data into structured working papers efficiently.
Xero (Advanced proficiency required)

Australian Tax Office (ATO) compliance standards, GST rules, and BAS reporting requirements.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to agreed-upon shift schedules.
