About the role
The Engineering Manager leads the engineering and maintenance function across Crystal Cold Storage's multi-site cold warehousing operations, ensuring asset reliability, regulatory compliance, and optimal energy performance. This role combines strategic planning, capital project delivery, and people leadership to maximize uptime, control lifecycle costs, and enable safe, scalable growth.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute a 3–5 year engineering and facilities roadmap aligned with business expansion plans, CAPEX investments, operational requirements, and energy/sustainability goals
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of capital projects, including warehouse construction, facility upgrades, and installation of equipment and systems, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and compliant with quality standards
- Own the asset management strategy and oversee maintenance execution, including Preventive Maintenance, Predictive/Condition-Based Maintenance, Planned Maintenance Systems, and routine and corrective maintenance programs
- Drive improvements in Planned Maintenance Percentage and the reduction of reactive or breakdown work
- Ensure high reliability and availability of critical systems including refrigeration systems, electrical and power distribution systems, backup power systems, and utilities and facility infrastructure
- Lead initiatives to reduce energy consumption and improve refrigeration efficiency through smart controls, monitoring, and sustainability programs supporting corporate ESG targets
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, refrigerant handling standards, and workplace safety requirements, and lead Process Safety Management and emergency preparedness programs
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, HR/Admin, and other departments to align engineering priorities with operational demands, cost efficiency, and business strategies
- Select and manage contractors, OEMs, and service providers while enforcing SLAs, safety compliance, and technical acceptance standards
- Lead and develop engineering and maintenance teams across sites, establish competency standards, certification programs, and succession readiness
About you
- Experience in engineering management, asset management, or maintenance leadership in industrial or facilities operations
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical infrastructure, and critical facility systems
- Demonstrated capability in capital project delivery and budget management
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and asset management systems
- Understanding of regulatory compliance, safety standards, and environmental requirements
- People leadership and team development experience
