Job summary

Firefly Electric and Lighting Corporation (FELCO) seeks an Accounting Team Leader in Ermita, Manila, onsite. You will supervise the Payables Group, ensure accurate, timely processing, and strengthen internal controls while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and suppliers.

Requirements include a BS in Accountancy or Financial Management, CPA is an advantage, 5+ years in finance with 2+ years leading payables, and strong Excel/SAP skills to drive process improvements and team development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or Financial Management related courses; CPA license is an advantage.
• At least 5 years experience in Finance or Accounting with at least 2 years leading Accounts Payable or disbursement function.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to manage and lead people.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide decision-ready information.
• Proficient in SAP or any ERP system.
• Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets for data presentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily activities of the Payables Group, ensuring accurate and timely processing, compliance with accounting policies and standards, and integrity of financial records and its supporting documents.
• Manage the team effectively to optimize their productivity and engagement which includes work planning, performance management, development and coaching, and team culture management.
• Directs month-end and year-end closing procedures for accounts payable. Oversees vendor aging reports and reconciliation of vendor statements.
• Coordinates and collaborates with the cross functional department and third party suppliers to resolve any discrepancies.
• Identifies opportunities to improve and strengthen accounting processes, systems, and procedures. Implements changes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.

About The Role

(Near SM City Manila)

Location: Ermita, Manila (Near SM City Manila)

Role Type: Full-time, Onsite (Five-day workweek)

Reporting to: Accounting and Tax Compliance Manager

As an Accounting Team Leader, you will supervise daily operations of the Payables Group, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payables. You will also enhance the accounting systems and policies to continuously improve internal controls, collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers, and provide primary guidance to team members.

Other responsibilities include

To succeed and grow in this role, you will be required to meet the following qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or Financial Management related courses; CPA license is an advantage


• At least 5 years experience in any Finance or Accounting function with at least 2 years leading an Accounts Payable or disbursement function.

• Proficient in SAP or any similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.


• Advanced level in Excel and/or google sheet for effective presentation of data.
