Responsibilities

• Supervise and review accounting staff to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure full BIR tax compliance (VAT, withholding taxes, payments, returns) and supporting schedules.
• Oversee AP and AR processes, including invoicing, collections, disbursements, and reconciliations.
• Perform account reconciliations and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Maintain internal controls and segregation of duties in accounting processes.
• Coordinate with external auditors and BIR examiners as needed.
• Utilize ERP and Excel for reporting, analysis, and reconciliation.
• Identify discrepancies or gaps and propose corrective actions.
• Support budgeting, cost tracking, and financial analysis as required.

About the role

The Accounting Supervisor oversees day-to-day accounting operations across the group, ensuring accurate financial reporting, full BIR tax compliance, and disciplined management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. This role supervises accounting staff, reviews and validates financial data before it reaches management, and acts as the primary point person for tax and regulatory compliance matters.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and review the work of accounting staff to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of reports
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Ensure full compliance with BIR requirements, including VAT, withholding taxes, tax payments, returns, and supporting schedules
• Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, including invoice review, collections, disbursements, and reconciliations
• Perform and review account reconciliations and ensure supporting documentation is complete and audit-ready
• Maintain and enforce internal controls and segregation of duties within the accounting process
• Coordinate with external auditors, BIR examiners, and other regulatory bodies as needed
• Utilize ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel for reporting, analysis, and reconciliation
• Identify discrepancies or process gaps and recommend corrective action
• Support budgeting, cost tracking, and financial analysis as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related accounting field from a reputable university
• CPA license preferred, but not required
• At least 5 years of solid accounting experience, preferably with supervisory or senior-level responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general accounting, and Philippine taxation
• Well-versed in BIR compliance — VAT, withholding taxes, tax payments, returns, and supporting schedules
• Hands-on experience in AP and AR functions
• Capable of reviewing invoices, collections, disbursements, account reconciliations, and supporting documents
• Able to prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Knowledgeable in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and ensure accuracy and timeliness of output
• Experience in shipping, logistics, or maritime industry is an advantage
