Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative
- Assist in drafting and implementing accounting policies, forms, and process flows for approval by management.
- Ensure timely submission of required accounting reports.
- Review and check reports of accounting staff uploaded in the G-Drive.
- Help set up and maintain accounting systems and proper documentation.
- Support in the setup of accounting books and Chart of Accounts, and monitor the implementation by the accounting team.
- Maintain an organized filing area and ensure proper document control and folio system.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and filed.
- Communicate and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards.
Transaction Validation, Reporting, and Monitoring
- Consolidate, check, and validate accounting reports such as daily cashiering reports, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly accounting reports for management review.
- Review audit findings and assist in implementing corrective actions to improve processes.
- Supervise the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Monitor and ensure the timely processing of financial transactions.
- Support the preparation of general ledger entries, financial reports, and other accounting schedules.
- Check daily sales reports and validate bank reconciliation results.
- Monitor budgets of assigned corporations or projects and prepare monthly summaries for review.
- Recommend improvements in accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Assist in identifying and managing financial or operational risks within the department.
Government Compliance
- Prepare and ensure the timely submission of government reports and statutory requirements (e.g., BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
- Maintain proper filing of all government compliance documents and update monitoring in the G-Drive.
Team Management
- Supervise and guide accounting staff in performing daily accounting tasks.
- Conduct regular discussions or refresher training on accounting procedures and best practices.
- Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to accounting standards and deadlines.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and reporting.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years accounting experience, with some supervisory or lead experience.
- Knowledge of PH accounting standards, AP/AR, GL, and month-end closing.
- Experienced in financial report review, reconciliations, and transaction validation.
- Knowledge of government compliance (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Able to supervise and guide a small accounting team.
