Overview
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supervising a team of accounting staff. The role supports the organization's financial health by ensuring compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and train accounting staff (e.g. accounts payable/receivable clerks bookkeepers).
- assign and review the work of team members to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support staff development and training.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure the General Ledger is maintained in accordance with GAAP or relevant accounting standards.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
- Monitor internal controls and suggest improvements.
- Support audit processes and documentation requests.
- Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or any related field (required).
- Preferably one (1) year experience in General Accounting or equivalent, experience in project management from manual to system is an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and internal controls.
- Strong team player with ability to interact with all levels of staff in the organization.
- Strong excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Trustworthy and with high values of integrity. No bad records and integrity issues.
