Job summary

One Engine is seeking an Accounting Specialist to manage critical accounting activities for supported business entities. You will maintain accurate financial records, perform reconciliations, support period-end closing, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

You will work with minimal supervision, identify discrepancies, coordinate with stakeholders, and recommend process improvements to drive efficiency across multiple entities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years in finance or accounting, preferably in shared services.
• Strong analytical skills and multi-entity finance experience.
• Proficient with Xero and government compliance processes.
• Discreet with confidential information; strong organization and time management.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with teams.

Responsibilities

• Review and record vendor invoices, operating expenses, and other financial transactions.
• Manage weekly payment processing with proper approvals and documentation.
• Maintain vendor ledgers and payment schedules across entities.
• Perform bank, cash, payable, receivable, and GL reconciliations.
• Prepare month-end journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Assist in balance sheets, income statements, cash reports.
• Support bi-monthly and monthly payroll disbursements.
• Coordinate documents for BIR and EFPS filings.

About the role

The Accounting Specialist will manage critical accounting activities for supported business entity. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, completing reconciliations, supporting period-end closing, and ensuring that transactions comply with company policies and regulatory requirements. The role requires someone who can work with minimal supervision, identify financial discrepancies, coordinate with stakeholders, and recommend improvements to existing accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Review and record vendor invoices, operating expenses, and other financial transactions
• Manage weekly payment processing and verify that payment requests are properly approved and documented
• Monitor outstanding payables and coordinate with stakeholders regarding pending or incomplete requirements
• Maintain accurate vendor ledgers and payment schedules across multiple entities
• Perform bank, cash, payable, receivable, and general ledger reconciliations
• Investigate discrepancies and coordinate the necessary adjusting entries
• Prepare month-end journal entries for accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and expense allocations
• Assist in preparing balance sheets, income statements, cash reports, and supporting financial schedules
• Support bi-monthly and monthly payroll disbursements for assigned ventures
• Coordinate the preparation of documents for BIR and EFPS filings

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or any related field
• At least 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a shared services setup
• Strong analytical skills and experience managing financial operations for multiple entities
• Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Xero) and government compliance processes
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational and time management skills
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors
• Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced, start-up work environment
