Job summary

Makro Philippines (CP Axtra AC Corporation) seeks a Section Manager – Accounting to lead accounting operations, ensure accurate reporting, and enforce financial controls across its retail and wholesale business.

You will supervise the accounting team, coordinate with multiple departments, and drive process improvements while ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting/finance experience with at least 2 in supervision.
• Experience in retail, wholesale, distribution, or multi-site operations preferred.
• Proficient with accounting software and ERP systems; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the Accounting section, ensuring timely completion.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, GL, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records and documents.
• Review financial reports and account balances to identify discrepancies and improvements.
• Monitor month-end and year-end closing activities for timely reporting.
• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure policy compliance.
• Coordinate with Operations, Procurement, Inventory, and other departments to resolve issues.
• Support financial audits by preparing schedules and explanations.
