Job summary

SUN PHARMA is seeking an Accounting Officer to support the Finance Manager with month-end and year-end closing activities, tax return filing, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2–3 years in accounting/finance, with SAP Hana familiarity. CPA is a plus, pharmaceutical industry experience is advantageous.

You will prepare analyses, assist audits, and ensure timely, compliant financial reporting in a dynamic pharmaceutical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy required.
• Prefer CPA with 2-3 years accounting/finance experience.
• Familiarity with SAP Hana or other accounting software.
• Background in pharmaceutical industry is an advantage.

Job description

The Accounting Officer will assist the Finance Manager with month-end and year-end closing activities, tax return filing and compliance, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Ability to work independently and deliver expected results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs the month-end and year-end closing processes. Oversee the timely and proper closing of financial books at the end of each reporting period. Maintain a copy of all relevant accounting documents for audit and tax purposes.
• Monitors cash flow, reviews financial transactions, and ensures the completeness and accuracy of all accounting records on a timely basis.
• Ensures timely preparation and filing of all tax returns, ensuring compliance with all local tax requirements.
• Maintains documentation for Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) audits, ensures all documents are always audit ready.
• Review bank reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, and supporting documentation to verify validity and accuracy. Maintain the asset master data within the financial system.
• Prepare accurate and timely periodic and ad-hoc analyses and reports.
• Assist in the smooth and timely completion of interim and annual audits. Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents.
• Conducts monthly GL analysis and assists in the preparation of BS Reconciliation Report.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
• Preferably a CPA, with 2 - 3 years working experience in Accounting / Finance
• Familiarity with SAP Hana or other accounting software.
• Background working in the Pharmaceutical Industry is an advantage.
