Job summary

Velez College is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensure accurate records, and support strategic decision-making. You will lead the accounting team, work with management, auditors, and external partners to maintain controls and timely reporting.

The role requires a BS in Accountancy or related field, and a CPA is preferred. A minimum of 3 years in accounting with supervisory experience is expected, plus strong Excel and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• BS in Accountancy, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Proficient in Excel; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including AP/AR, GL, payroll coordination, and cash management.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff; assign responsibilities and monitor performance.
• Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and supporting docs.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Coordinate tax filings and regulatory reports.
• Establish and improve accounting policies and internal controls.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and provide required documentation.
