Job summary

MB AS, a global insurance solutions provider with an operations team in the Philippines, seeks an Accounting Manager to lead a four-member team. You will manage day-to-day accounting, ensure compliance, and work with the CFO in Norway to strengthen controls and reporting.

Role requires CPA and strong English communication with international stakeholders; hybrid work setup in Makati with 10 on-site days per month.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations of MB AS.
• Ensure timely accuracy of premium invoicing, claims payments, and related processes.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities with reconciliations and reports.
• Ensure timely submission of claims, bordereaux, and management reports.
• Coordinate annual audits and Canopius/NHC reviews; ensure audit readiness.
• Maintain strong internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Coach and develop team members; manage workloads and priorities.
• Serve as primary contact for auditors, underwriters, brokers, banks; collaborate with CFO in Norway.

A minimum of 10 days of on-site work per month is required, with employees having the flexibility to choose their preferred days and schedule.

Working hours / Job Type:

Monday to Friday: Flexible start time between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM PH Time, provided that employees complete 40 hours per week

As an Accounting Manager, you will lead and oversee a team of four members while managing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance. You will work closely with the CFO in Norway and key stakeholders to maintain strong financial controls, support audits, and drive operational efficiency and process improvements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of MB AS, ensuring efficient service delivery and the timely and accurate completion of accounting activities
• Maintain overall accountability for the accuracy and timeliness of premium invoicing, claims payments, fund distributions, supplier payments, and related accounting processes
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion of reconciliations, financial reports, and supporting schedules
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of claims and premium bordereaux, management reports, and other reporting requirements
• Lead and coordinate annual audits, Canopius/NHC audits, and other financial or compliance reviews, ensuring audit readiness and prompt resolution of findings
• Maintain a strong control environment and ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and governance expectations
• Lead, coach, and develop team members while managing workloads, resources, and operational priorities to achieve departmental objectives
• Serve as the primary contact for auditors, underwriters, brokers, banks, and other stakeholders while partnering closely with the CFO in Norway and internal departments to strengthen operational efficiency, reporting, controls, and process improvements

Must-have Skills / Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Strong foundation in accounting principles and the full accounting cycle, from start to finish
• Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge
• Experience working closely with and/or overseeing an audit/accounting team
• Strong MS Excel skills
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, especially when dealing with international stakeholders
• Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
• Strong integrity and work ethic
• Team-oriented and collaborative, with genuine care and respect for colleagues
• Able to deliver results and take ownership of responsibilities

Advantageous:

• Senior Audit Associate experience, particularly from a Big 4 or established audit firm
