Institute of Data is a global education organisation delivering industry-leading technology training across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United States. We're looking for an experienced Accounts Manager to lead our growing Philippines office.
As Accounts Manager, you will hold a key dual leadership role: managing our local accounting processes and overseeing day-to-day office administration. In this hands-on position, you will mentor a dedicated team of bookkeepers and oversee local site operations to ensure seamless workflow execution.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide daily supervision to our bookkeeping staff, ensuring all accounts, payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, reconciliations, and cash tracking run accurately and on schedule. You will maintain strong administrative systems, drive operational efficiency, and work with global leadership to ensure seamless workflow execution.
Accounting & Financial Operations:
Directly supervising the daily workflow of the bookkeeping and accounts team.
Reviewing and approving daily/weekly journal entries, bank reconciliations, AP/AR batches, and student payment gateway transactions (e.g., Stripe).
Overseeing month-end closing schedules and coordinating with global accounting to ensure timely, compliant reporting.
Enforcing internal accounting controls, process documentation, and continuous process automation.
Providing senior leadership oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, invoicing, reconciliations and cash flow processes.
Leading team including conducting 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and daily stand‑ups with bookkeepers.
Office Management & Administration:
Managing day-to-day office operations, facility maintenance, equipment inventory, and vendor relationships.
Supporting local HR duties, including staff recruitment, onboarding, attendance tracking, and maintaining employee records.
Fostering a positive, productive workplace culture through 1-on-1s, daily stand‑ups, performance reviews, and team coaching.
Serving as the primary local point of contact for international stakeholders across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United States.
You are an organized operational leader who combines sound accounting fundamentals with exceptional administrative management skills.
You’ll ideally have:
Demonstrated experience managing accounting functions alongside general office operations/administration.
Experience working within a BPO, RPO, or offshore shared services environment will be highly regarded.
Strong practical understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledger reconciliations, invoicing, and internal controls.
Hands‑on experience with Xero (essential) and proficiency with platforms like QuickBooks, NetSuite, or MYOB.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, reporting) and cloud tools like Google Workspace and HubSpot.
Proven team‑leadership capabilities, including coaching, conducting 1-on-1s, and driving staff performance.
Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Prior experience in education, EdTech, or professional training environments is highly regarded.
Lead a small local team within an international company.
Work directly with global leadership in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
