About This Role
The Accounting Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, supporting account reconciliations, and ensuring completeness of assigned accounts. The role focuses on transactional integrity and supporting schedules, without involvement in full financial statement consolidation or bottom-line reporting.
What You'll Do
- Record and post accurate journal entries in the books of accounts based on assigned transactions.
- Ensure all entries are valid and properly supported.
- Maintain and update assigned general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and process periodic entries such as depreciation, amortization, and prepayments.
- Prepare and record bank transactions and reconciliation items.
- Perform account reconciliations (cash, bank, receivables, payables, and other assigned accounts).
- Maintain detailed supporting schedules for assigned balance sheet accounts.
- Ensure timely identification and resolution of reconciling items and variances.
- Support preparation of financial statement schedules and reports, without involvement in final financial statement consolidation.
- Assist in preparation of tax schedules and compliance requirements, as assigned.
- Assist in departmental cost tracking and monitoring (non-revenue related, as assigned).
- Coordinate with the Finance team for reporting requirements and analysis of assigned accounts.
- Perform periodic warehouse inventory audits based on agreed frequency to validate accuracy, existence, and completeness of inventory balances.
- Ensure completeness of documentation and audit trails for all processed transactions.
- Apply proper cut-off and classification. (Correctness of accounting period)
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of assigned financial data and records only.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Accountancy, Financial Management, Accounting Information Systems, or related field.
- At least 2 years up of relevant accounting experience in bookkeeping, general accounting, reconciliations, or finance operations is preferred.
- Experience handling: Journal entries, General ledger accounts, Inventory transactions, Audit documentation
- Strong understanding of: Basic accounting principles and financial reporting concepts,
- Proficient in: Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas, reconciliation workpapers) , Google Sheets, Accounting systems or ERP software
- Consistently submits work within deadlines with minimal errors
- Willing to learn and adapt to changing systems and processes
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced e-commerce environment
- Analytical and process-oriented mindset
