Job Description
The Accounting Staff is responsible for the accurate recording, processing, and monitoring of the company's financial transactions. The role supports daily accounting operations, prepares financial records, assists in government compliance, and ensures that all accounting documents are complete, organized, and accurate.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Recording
- Record daily financial transactions accurately and on time.
- Maintain complete and organized accounting records and supporting documents.
- Prepare journal entries and accounting schedules as assigned.
- Ensure all transactions are properly documented and filed.
2. Accounts Receivable & Payable
- Monitor customer receivables and supplier payables.
- Record collections and supplier payments.
- Prepare statements of account and payment schedules.
- Coordinate with internal departments regarding outstanding balances.
3. Bank & Cash Reconciliation
- Prepare bank reconciliations.
- Monitor cash transactions and fund movements.
- Verify deposits, withdrawals, and bank transfers.
- Investigate and report discrepancies.
4. Government Compliance
- Prepare and process tax and statutory government requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and other required government reports related to accounting and payroll.
- Maintain complete records supporting government filings.
- Coordinate with government agencies when necessary.
5. Financial Reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and schedules.
- Generate reports requested by management.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
6. Administrative Support
- Maintain an organized filing system for accounting documents.
- Coordinate with auditors during internal or external audits.
- Safeguard confidential financial information.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Financial Management, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of accounting experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and Philippine taxation is an advantage.
- Familiarity with BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG compliance requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and accounting software.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Honest, organized, and able to maintain confidentiality.
