Accounting Assistant supports the finance department by performing daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with reporting and compliance activities. This role ensures timely processing of transactions and contributes to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Assist in resolving payment discrepancies.
2. Financial Record Keeping
- Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial files and records.
- Reconcile bank statements and assist with monthly reconciliations.
3. Reporting & Support
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Help prepare schedules for audits and tax filings.
4. Compliance & Controls
- Ensure transactions comply with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist in maintaining internal controls and documentation.
Qualifications
Education
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience
- 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Fresh graduates with strong accounting knowledge may be considered.
Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
