Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Accounting, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Accountant beyond basic bookkeeping or data entry.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop).
• Solid knowledge of general accounting principles, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Hands-on experience with payroll processing and payroll record keeping.
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• A high level of accuracy and ability to handle confidential information.
• Self-discipline, attentiveness and independence.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting in QuickBooks, including recording transactions and maintaining the general ledger.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and other adjustments.
• Support the month-end close and prepare financial statements such as the Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet.
• Help process payroll, including reviewing hours, checking payroll calculations, and keeping payroll records accurate.
• Record payroll entries and related liabilities accurately in the books.
• Track and record accounts payable and accounts receivable activity.
• Keep financial documentation organized and support year-end and tax preparation as needed.
• Spot discrepancies or errors in financial records and recommend fixes or process improvements.
• Give management clear financial updates and answer their accounting questions.
