We are seeking a detail-driven, adaptable Intermediate Accountant to support our team with annual compliance jobs, client bookkeeping reviews, complex reconciliations, and audit testing. You will review general ledgers, troubleshoot software issues, prepare Activity Statements, and assist with corporate compliance workflows using Xero and MYOB.
Assist Senior Accountants with the setup and roll forward of annual compliance jobs to prepare them for seamless commencement.
Review client bookkeeping for accuracy and completeness in Xero and MYOB, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and troubleshoot accounting system issues.
Prepare basic Income Tax Return workpapers, supporting schedules, and monthly/quarterly Activity Statement workpapers (uploading them into Xero Practice Manager).
Prepare monthly and annual payroll tax reconciliations, workers' compensation declarations, quarterly management reporting reconciliations, and assist with annual company audit control testing.
University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Xero Certified Advisor and Xero Certified Payroll Advisor credentials.
2 to 3 years of solid experience in a similar accounting role working with Australian clients or an Australian public practice firm.
Intermediate proficiency in Xero, exposure to Xero Practice Manager (XPM), basic Microsoft Teams skills, and intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Strong organizational skills, ability to meet strict compliance deadlines, troubleshooting mindset, and excellent written and verbal English communication.
