Job summary

Bureau Veritas do Brasil is seeking a skilled General Ledger Accountant to manage the ledger, post journal entries, and reconcile accounts. You will support the preparation of financial statements while ensuring compliance with GAAP and BV policies.

Key Responsibilities

• General Ledger Management: Maintain, reconcile, and balance the general ledger; ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and coded
• Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries for various accounting transactions, including accruals, deferrals, and adjustments
• Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of GL accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of accounting transactions, policies, and procedures
• Tax: Tax preparation and filing for Compensation Taxes, Final Taxes, Expanded Withholding Taxes, VAT, Corporate Income Tax
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to GAAP, local accounting standards, and Bureau Veritas financial policies
• Audit Support: Prepare schedules and documentation to support internal, external, and BIR tax audit activities
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline GL processes and enhance efficiency
• Collaboration: Work with other accounting and finance team members to resolve issues and meet deadlines

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience: 2–4 years of general ledger accounting experience
• Technical Skills:Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft ExcelStrong understanding of GL structure, account coding, and reconciliation procedures
• Competencies:Excellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesClear written and verbal communicationProblem-solving mindset
• Knowledge: Familiarity with GAAP and month-end close procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation

• Exposure to testing, inspection, or certification industry accounting
• Experience with financial consolidation or intercompany accounting
