We are looking for an experienced Accountant to support the financial operations of an Australian legal practice. This role will work closely with the business owner and management team to maintain accurate financial records, monitor business performance, and provide reliable financial information to support day-to-day and longer-term business decisions.
The ideal candidate can work independently, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable taking ownership of financial processes. Experience working with Australian businesses or accounting practices is highly desirable.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable
Reconcile bank and credit card transactions
Monitor cash flow, expenses, and business expenditure
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Prepare financial information and reports for management review
Assist with payroll-related accounting and reporting where applicable
Ensure financial documentation is properly maintained and organised
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
3–5+ years of relevant accounting experience
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Strong organisational and time‑management skills
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Familiarity with Australian accounting and taxation practices
Experience supporting professional services or legal businesses
