Job summary

Leighton Asia is seeking a seasoned finance professional to drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting across multiple cycles. You will manage core accounting activities, review reconciliations, and collaborate with project controls to optimize cash flow and cost management.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, with experience supporting project and tender financials in a construction-related environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy and professional certification preferred.
• 5+ years in accounting or commercial finance with strong analytics.
• Experience in construction, engineering, or property is a plus.
• Proven ability to work with non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial reports.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis with management commentary.
• Manage general accounting activities, including accruals and ledgers.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Ensure cost management for labor, overhead, and project costs.
• Support project and tender financials including cash flow optimization.
• Collaborate with project controls and operations on financial setup.
• Assist with tax matters and statutory reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with policies, accounting standards, and regulations.
• Act as finance business partner to non-finance stakeholders.

• Prepare, review, and submit monthly, quarterly, semi‑annual, and annual financial reports
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis, including commentary for management
• Manage general accounting activities, including accruals, reclassifications, and ledger accuracy
• Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Ensure accurate cost management for labor, overhead, and project‑related costs
• Support project and tender financials, including cost recovery, JV arrangements, and cash flow optimization
• Work closely with project controls and operational teams on financial setup and ongoing management
• Provide support on tax‑related matters and statutory reporting requirements
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
• Act as a trusted finance business partner to non‑finance stakeholders

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy
• CPA or CIMA certification preferred
• At least 5 years’ experience in accounting or commercial finance
• Experience in construction, engineering, or property industry is an advantage
• Proven experience working with non‑finance stakeholders
• Advanced Excel skills, including strong experience in Power Query and data transformation
• Experience using ERP and financial reporting systems
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
• Able to work independently, manage priorities, and meet tight deadlines
