About the role
This role is responsible for managing accounting cycles, financial reporting, and corporate tax management across one or more local companies. You will oversee all aspects of closing and bookkeeping operations, prepare financial statements and audit documentation, and liaise with external tax consultants on tax matters.
Key responsibilities
- Manage all accounting cycles including booking, lettering accounts, accounting review, and accruals estimate
- Handle invoicing and customer recovery
- Manage suppliers' payment and voucher requests
- Point the Supplier's Settlement of Accounts (SOA) and reconciliation
- Reconcile and analyse Ship owners (SO) accounts with End Client (EC) accounts
- Handle intercompany rebilling if necessary
- Manage monthly tax declarations in cooperation with the local team or tax consultant
- Perform all accounting reconciliations including bank, intercompany, petty cash, tax, payroll, and GL/PL/SL reconciliations
- Manage assets identification, depreciation calculation, and analytical booking
- Prepare and record closure bookkeeping including P&L cut off, income and expenses accrual, prepaid income and expenses, and Re-evaluation Forex
- Handle IFRS booking in cooperation with the Financial Controller
- Prepare and compile working files relating to account analysis for audit review
- Assist the Financial Controller with Financial Statements' preparation and Audit queries
- Assist Financial Controller with analytical review and analysis of Sales, Gross Margin, and Overheads
- Liaise with external tax consultants for tax matters in collaboration with the Tax referent and Financial Controller
- Prepare voucher requests for tax payments as per set due dates
Skills and Requirements
- Accounting / finance degree
- At least five years of accounting experience, preferably in shipping or energy sector.
- Good English is obligatory
