About the role
The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, and timely accounting records and financial information of the Company. The position handles accounting transactions, reconciliations, financial documentation, monitoring of accounts, preparation of accounting reports, and other finance-related activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, applicable laws and regulations, and Company policies and procedures. The Accountant supports Management in maintaining proper financial controls, safeguarding Company assets, monitoring financial transactions, and providing reliable financial information necessary for effective business decision-making. The position is also responsible for ensuring that accounting records and supporting documents are properly maintained, organized, and available for internal and external review or audit.
Key responsibilities
Record, classify, and maintain accounting transactions accurately and systematically
Prepare and maintain accounting entries, schedules, and supporting documents
Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Prepare and maintain bank reconciliation statements
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between accounting records and bank statements
Review expense claims, reimbursement requests, and other disbursement documents
Prepare regular accounting schedules and financial reports as assigned
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports
Provide accounting records and supporting documents required for internal and external audits
Maintain complete and organized accounting records and ensure proper filing of vouchers, receipts, invoices, and other accounting documents
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Preferably with relevant accounting experience in retail, trading, corporate, or similar business operations
Experience in general accounting, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliation, financial reporting, or taxation is an advantage
Strong numerical and analytical skills
High attention to detail
Accurate data entry and recordkeeping
Good organizational and time-management skills
Ability to identify discrepancies and accounting irregularities
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines
