BlueSky Education is seeking a Singapore-based Academic Manager to lead the academic design, quality and delivery of its programmes in Singapore. About the role

BlueSky Education is seeking a Singapore-based Academic Manager to lead the academic design, quality and delivery of BlueSky Education's programmes in Singapore. Working closely with international teams, Sales, Operations, teachers, contractors and education partners, the Academic Manager will ensure that programmes are academically engaging, well organised and delivered to a consistently high standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
1. Overall Academic Management
  • Develop new curriculum and continuously update, and upgrade existing programmes (including Singapore, China, Japan and Korea).
  • Recruit, assess and manage teachers, guest speakers and academic contractors.
  • Coordinate academic programme arrangements, including teacher and contractor briefings, training and preparation.
  • Ensure curriculum and teaching delivery are effective, engaging and aligned with BlueSky Education's required standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations Managers and Camp Managers to support the smooth and effective running of programmes.
  • Provide academic guidance and support to accompanying teachers, school staff and programme personnel when required.
  • Work with teachers to organise student testing, placement and induction where required.
  • Develop timetables and allocate counsellors and teaching staff according to class levels and programme requirements.
  • Manage academic materials, teaching resources and learning platforms effectively.
  • Conduct lesson observations, provide constructive feedback and contribute to end-of-course staff appraisals.
  • Teach classes when required to meet operational and programme demands.
2. Business Development & Client Support
  • Build relationships with international schools and education partners to identify potential educational tour and in-school programme opportunities.
  • Support the Sales team in client meetings where academic or programme design expertise is required.
  • Collaborate with Sales to design and tailor programmes that meet client objectives and student needs.
  • Host and support ad-hoc client familiarisation (FAM) trips in Singapore in collaboration with Operations Managers.
  • Contribute academic insights and programme expertise to proposals, presentations and client discussions.
KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
  • Native or native-level English speaker.
  • Bachelor's degree holder.
  • Demonstrable teaching experience with young learners, particularly non-native English speakers.
  • Minimum of eight years' teaching experience.
Desirable
  • Previous experience as an Academic Manager, Academic Director or similar role in an international school or English language school.
  • Young Learners teaching qualification.
  • Experience in educational management within a summer camp, residential programme or study-tour environment.
  • ESL teaching qualification such as CELTA, TEFL/TESOL or equivalent.
  • Experience preparing students for examinations, particularly Cambridge or IB programmes, and/or administering examinations.
