Job summary

KingsIsle Entertainment is seeking a 3D Character Artist to bring life and personality to characters and creatures in our MMO projects and newer titles in development. You will hand-paint textures, work with low-poly models, and ensure compatibility with rigging, animation, and the Unity pipeline.

Qualifications

• 1+ years creating professional character assets in the game industry.
• Extensive working knowledge of Photoshop, 3DS Max and 3D-Coat.
• Experience in modeling and texturing low poly characters / creatures (≤2500 triangles; textures ≤1024x1024).
• Proficient with creating hand-painted textures.
• Strong UV layout skills.
• Experience with DDS files and Gambryo game engine is a plus.

Responsibilities

• 3D model and texture creation for stylized characters/creatures using 3DS Max, Photoshop, and 3D-Coat.
• Work from provided concept art and art direction.
• Collaborate with animation to ensure clean models and proper cuts for movements.
• Undergo review stages and apply polish as requested.
• Learn to bring over and update legacy work to match the new style within Unity pipeline.
• Keep files organized and within established structures.
• Other related duties as assigned.
